Nov 26, 2018 Thanksgiving and Transfers!

 Nov 26,2018

Hey mom, it's been alright in the area. Still trying to find a daily in the area. I cant remember the members who got us desert, they are from Plano if I can remember. We were at Cabela's walking around and they asked us to come with them and get some ice cream at Braums. I can't remember everyone we were with in those pictures.

We went to two Thanksgiving dinners on Thursday. I ate a lot more than I wanted to but it was still pretty good. A couple of the Turkeys were smoked so that was a little different. We've been looking at ways to find more people in the area. Our best option is going to apartments because the last couple of people who became members of the church are living in Apartments. They are some pretty nice looking apartments too, but there is hope some kind of family will turn up. Other than that we haven't done a whole lot this week.

I had to buy a Bike Lock on Friday and I planned on picking up a phone, but I didn't want to get one that wouldn't work with Sprint. The cheapest I can get is around $450 I believe and with nearly a year left I don't want to have to pick up a phone this late in.

Transfers came out last night and I'm staying in Allen but Elder Gordon is leaving. This has been the third missionary I've been with only 1 transfer  in Texas. I'll have to ask President Dalton about all the changes every transfer at the next interviews. I'm pretty glad to be staying because we are having another Stake Conference on the Sunday before next Transfers and an apostle is coming down to visit. It might be Elder Holland again but I'm crossing my fingers for either Elder Ballard or Elder Bednar. It will be exciting to see what happens.

I think there is a Tanya Christensen in one of the wards I serve in. I'll have to tell them that I'm from Surprise, Arizona sometime.

We had to do a lot of service this morning to help out with the Nativity coming up so it will be interesting to see how the event turns out.

I'm in the first book of Chronicles and I'm still trying to finish the Old Testament before the end of the year. The last thing I read talked about the Capture of Jerusalem. I guess you can send that package if you really want to do it at the apartment. I need to buy a new belt because one of my screws fell out making it a little wobbly. Kind of disappointed it didn't go through the entire mission. We also got to go to the Temple this week but we were only in there for about 20 minutes. We had a recent convert come with us and do confirmations and we wanted to do Baptisms for the Dead but for some odd reason there was a ton of Deacons and Mia Maids taking up the whole area. There were only three stalls as well so we didn't get to do anything. Anyway, talk to you soon!

(Elder Gordon has only been in Allen for 3 months. He's a little upset about leaving)  All of the missionaries I've been with so far besides Elder Twitchell are from the Mississippi Jackson Mission. He is going to Garland which isn't in our zone but it's not far from here.

The sister in the picture is Sister Rhoton and the Member is Brother Sterrett. She is new convert.

Thanksgiving dinner 1 &2!!

This nice family picked them up at Cabela's and took them out for ice cream!

Another sweet text from a member in Allen.  They LOVE Elder McMullan!
